Background
I learned my welding and shop skills at the Ventura College Welding Shop. I was taught the best techniques in Oxy-acetylene Welding and Cutting, Brazing, Cast Iron Welding and Brazing, GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, Silver Brazing, Basic Blacksmithing, Layout, Bending and other numerous shop skills and techniques from one of the very best at the time, Mr. John Messersmith. I went a total of 2 1/2 years. The first semester I was in the night class during the day because I started late, thus giving me even more time with the master. I served as class foreman my second year. I was suppose to receive a card stating that I had completed 2,000 hrs. of class with a hand-written note on the back telling my strong points. I never did get it. To get certified in GTAW my teacher said one usually got certified where they worked. I eventually got certified where I worked. Whoopee!
My work experience starts at Whitacre Corp. a wire machinery manufacturer - building wire spoolers, wire drawers, coilers and cage welders. Strong Steel - making all kinds of things from stainless and aluminum this and that to storage tanks erected in the field. I worked other places just for experience. In my business career I have made machines for Calavo, and parts for Whitacre Corp., for Otis Engineering an oil field service company I did repair and fabrication. Currently I do displays for patagonia, and other "Job Shop" related work for numerous companies and individuals.
In 1990 I developed a "MANUAL WELDING WIRE FEEDER" and received a patent for it in 1992. I am currently working on improvements to further enhance the wire feeder for manual welding.
I started the business in July 1981. My wife (aka"The Boss Lady") works with me keeping everything organized.
Our goal is to provide professional quality with value in all our services along with a lot of fun.
